In 2016, my great-aunt was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which was attributed to the stress caused by my grandfather’s death a few months earlier. Witnessing her in that condition led me to question my own sanity, a reflection that continues to this day. I decided to create this series through the personification of my grandfather within the apartment in the state my aunt left it, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, in which the physical space mirrors the mental state of its inhabitant.
